NW3 Title

Posted by Silke on July 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Heady earned her 2nd NW3 leg with a 3rd place in vehicles, with overall 3rd places out of 30 participants!!

Explaining K9 Nosework...in this sport we work with 3 scents, the hides can never be seen and we have to trust our dog to point their nose in the location of the hides (q - tip with scent). In NW3 level we never know how many hides, we have to find all in a time given by the trial officials. We will not know if we found all until the end of the trial. But in this situation we did it right.

Memorial Day Cluster Brags

My girl, Rio, (UKC Ch AKC major pt'd Mighty Hearts Born To Flirt v Pungo Ridge RN, RATI, RATO) went Winners Bitch/Best of Opposite and Best of Breed Owner Handled all four days of the Memorial Day Cluster in Hampton VA.  Rio picked up a 5 point major one of the days by going Best of Winners.  She needs only one last major to finish her AKC Championship!  She also took 3rd place in the Owner Handled Working Group one day as well.  I'm so proud of her, she's such a joy to show!  She is always owner handled by me, Lisa Hundley.  Fingers crossed that we don't have to chase that last major for too long.

Hampton Memorial Weekend Show/Trial

So proud of my Ruger boy. With almost 8 years old (in August) he gave me another amazing weekend.

We started on Saturday with going Select Dog and BOBOH (Best Of Breed Owner Handler) at the Cavalier Doberman Pinscher Club specialty show. From there we went in to the Rally Obedience ring and pulled of a double Q in Advanced B and Excellent B with 2 First placements. Which earned us the CDPC's Versatility Award. And as a bones we top the day of with a Group 4 place in OH (Owner Handler). -  Thanks to Lisa for making me stay.
Sunday we competed in Veteran Sweepstakes (7 years and under 10 years) and took BOS, and in our breed specialty we got another Select Dog & BOBOH.
Did I mentioned that I am proud of that Ruger boy... and just a little bit about myself;)

After almost 6 years NOT competing in AKC Rally, Heady and Ruger rocked my world again.
At the HROTC Obedience/Rally trial on 4/30 and 5/1, 2016 each got 2 double Q’s.
For Heady it was double Q 14 & 15. She got a 3rd and a 4th place in Excellent B and a 2nd place and a Q in Advanced B.
For Ruger it was double Q 1 & 2. He got a 1st and a Q in Excellent B and a 1st (with a perfect score of 100) and 2nd place in Advanced B.
Me = HAPPY!

I just would like to let you all know that the K9 Nose Work Workshop with Jacy Kelley on March 12/13, 2016 was a total success. It was an incredible weekend with great working teams and lots of info to process. A big shout out to United Church of Tidewater in VA Beach and to the Norfolk Police Department for letting us use their facilities.
